Trough clusters to better export of fruits, juices and furniture
By 2006 Serbia could increase annual export of fruit by 50% or $40 million. Export of juices could be increased by $7.5 million and fruit products by $4.5 million. This branch could export products worth $150 million per year. Serbia already has the healthiest fruit base in region. It needs better export strategy, better manufacture and freezing technology and strong marketing, stated the owner of Stefani Univerzal Djordje Stevanovic engaged in fruit and juice cluster.
Producers assembled in the wood production and furniture cluster estimate that Serbian their branch could increase exports from present $32 million to $90 million. Twelve producers, gathered in the furniture cluster, consider that they could increase total income by €24 million, exports by €16 million and open 400 new jobs by 2007.
