ZAGREB – Serbs whose property in Croatia has not been returned are to be compensated under a decision made by the Croatian government today.
At issue is privately-owned land and housing of Serbs who were expelled from Croatia during the war and in which Croat refugees from Bosnia were subsequently accommodated.
The original owners are to receive compensation in the form of rent at just under one euro per metre.
The money will be back paid from November, 2002, until the present occupiers vacate the premises.
