Oil through Serbia – pipeline Konstanca - Omisalj
Construction of the Caspian pipeline trough Serbian territory is very important for the development of our oil industry and also for our geo-strategic position. According to Serbian Minister for Energy and Mining Kori Udovicki 65% of the future pipeline between Constanca and Omisalj has already been built. Only the route from Pistelj to Pancevo, 427 km in length remains to be constructed.
The pipeline construction could cost Serbia $800 million, but that investment is profitable, because there would be steady income thanks to oil transportation. And domestic companies would also be allowed to participate in construction of the pipeline. A possible pipeline capacity of crude oil transportation has been estimated at 50 million tons per year.
