Dafiment bank owner interrogated
BELGRADE – Alleged embezzler Dafina Milanovic today entered the Serbian justice system with a three-hour interrogation in the Belgrade District Court over the collapse of her pyramid banking scheme in the early 1999s.
She was extradited from Germany last week after being arrested last year on an Interpol warrant.
The Serbian government has announced that, under the present state of emergency, no details of the investigation will be published.
Defence lawyer Branimir Gugl has been warned by the court not to reveal any details of the case.
Hundreds of thousands of Serbs lost their life savings when Milanovic’s Dafiment Bank collapsed.
The investigation will resume on Friday.
