IMF to approve Serbia-Montenegro credit
WASHINGTON – Serbian Privatisation Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic has confirmed to B92 that the new state union is to receive a line of credit from the International Monetary Fund.
Speaking from Washington, where the Serbian Government’s political delegation is garnering financial support from potential investors and
organizations, Vlahovic said that credit of around 130 million dollars would finally be approved in two to three days, after twice being subject to delay.
The credit has now been guaranteed after state union members of Serbia and Montenegro came to a final agreement regarding the fiscal agents.
Vlahovic explained: “The agreement between the two governments is that the National Bank of Serbia will be the fiscal agent for the International Monetary Fond, while the Montenegrin Financial Ministry will be the agent for the World Bank”.
