China injects $3.1 million into Serbia's health sector
Belgrade - China has approved a third, $3.1 million tranche of its donation to Serbia's medical institutions, expected to provide local health institutions with 60 ultrasound machines, four CAT-scanners, 130 Pentium 4 personal computers and substantial medical supplies by the end of the year.
Under the 1999 agreement, China's donation amounts to some $6.3 million, the Tanjug news agency reported.
The donation has been evenly distributed among Serbia's medical institutions according to their needs, said Serbian Assistant Minister of Health Ivan Jovanovic. He added that cytostatics, Hepatitis B vaccines, post-surgery treatment equipment and ambulances are also among the health sector's priority needs.
