Corn in Sombor's elevators awaits buyers
In spite of low prices there are no buyers for corn in Sombor. Some of the farmers haven't even been able to sell corn from the 2001 harvest. Some private firms offer 5.2 dinars (€0.081) per kg and the highest offered price
is 5.4 dinars (€0.084) per kg.
One of the causes of such low demand is a drastic downturn in the number of
cattle and pigs being fed for meat production.
