Dafimet bank swindler returns to Belgrade
BELGRADE – Dafina Milanovic, owner of the collapsed Dafimet Bank pyramidal scheme, was extradited to Belgrade today, according to the Serbian Police.
The German authorities approved Milanovic’s extradition two weeks ago. She had been in German custody since December.
The plane carrying Milanovic landed at the Surcin airport, at which time she was placed in the airport’s holding cells. She is due to be transferred to Belgrade’s Central Prison shortly.
According to German authorities, since fleeing the former Yugoslavia in 1999 after being charged with embezzlement, the former Dafimet Bank owner spent most of her time in Switzerland, where she also applied for political asylum.
