Privatization in Serbia should be halted as long as trade unions are unable to act, union leader
BELGRADE - Privatization should be halted during the state of emergency since all union activities have also been halted so that the trade unions are unable to defend workers' rights against the
appearance of suspicious capital, the president of the Alliance of Independent Trade Unions
said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference, Milenko Smiljanic praised the success of the war against the Mafia, but underscored that the same should be conducted against crime in the economic sphere, because the owners of illegally
acquired capital will soon regroup and set up their "new army."
