Subotic uses capital of suspicious origin to buy Duvan - Slovenian daily
LJUBLJANA - Despite an intensive campaign against crime in Serbia, about 35 percent of the Belgrade company Duvan was bought by an enterprise said to be connected with organized crime and owned by Balkan "cigarette king" Stanko Subotic a.k.a. Cane, the Ljubljana daily Delo said on Tuesday.
Delo said that Duvan was Serbia's largest kiosk chain with branches in almost all Serbian cities and towns and that Subotic's enterprise had already held nearly 10 percent of its property and needed just a little more to get the majority block of shares.
