Vlahovic says dirty money was not used in privatization
NOVI SAD - Serbian Minister of Economy and Privatisation Aleksandar Vlahovic said in Novi Sad on Thursday that after additional checks it was established that dirty money, earned through criminal activities, terrorist operations, or drug or cigarette trafficking, had not been used in the
privatization process.
"There are indications that this money was used in the purchase of old hard currency savings bonds. This proves that we were right to propose this
privatization model, claiming that it prevents money laundering and that the voucher
privatization and trading in shares on the stock market represent a good basis for the use of dirty money," Vlahovic said.
