Elections in autumn?
Belgrade - 'Referendum on new constitution of Serbia will be organized together with parliamentary elections', Bosko Ristic, president of Administration board of Serbian Parliament and also official of Democratic Party said. 'That will be a guarantee that voter turnout will be over 50 per cent of the registered voters', Ristic said to Palma Plus Television of the city of Jagodina.
'Democratic Party does not expect parliamentary elections in Serbia before 2004. As regards passing of new Serbian constitution the time when that will happen depends on consensus of all political factors. We need a quality constitution', Gordana Comic, DS vice president said for 'Blic' daily.
'I have nothing against the idea that referendum and parliamentary elections are held together. However, it is too early to give any estimations whether that will be in autumn', Nebojsa Covic, DA leader said for 'Blic' daily. As it is known, the new constitution of Serbia is planned to be passed by the end of August.
