Foreign investments necessary for stepping up competitiveness, Vlahovic
BELGRADE - Serbian Privatization Minister Aleksandar Vlahovic said Wednesday that for stepping up the competitiveness of the economy it is necessary to simultaneously apply three strategies: development of small and
medium companies, privatization and the development of production capacities based on foreign investments.
Speaking at the closing session of the Competitiveness Summit, held in Belgrade's Sava congressional centre, Vlahovic said the government would back, rather than manage, the project for stepping up the competitiveness of the Serbian economy. He added that more foreign investments are badly needed for this project to succeed.
