Regular payments of salaries and pensions - Bozidar Djelic
Belgrade - 'Rebalance of the budget is due to new constitutional reality that understands new union of Serbia and Montenegro. We have new way of financing of institutions. Additional reason for rebalance is also the tragic assassination of premier Zoran Djidnjic. Further reason is deterioration of the international economic situation', Bozidar Djelic, Serbian Finance Minister says in his interview with 'Blic' daily.

Q: How realistic it is that we get donations for covering budget deficit?
A: 'Serbian Government is making big economic-diplomatic offensive due to this new situation, not only because of assassination of Djindjic, but because of recession in the West as well. We expect that intensified financial support compensate for expected fall in privatization and investments. The first reactions are encouraging. European Union reacted first and there is indication that EU will intensify its support'.

Q: What would that mean for those financed from the budget?
A: 'Those that depend on the budget can count on being absolute priority. This means that the pensions and salaries will be paid on a regular basis'.
