NBS to be Serbia-Montenegro's fiscal agent at IMF
BELGRADE - Economic teams of the governments of Serbia and Montenegro have reached a preliminary agreement to appoint the National Bank of Serbia and its Governor the fiscal agent of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), but a way of representation at the World Bank had not been decided yet, Serbian Minister for Foreign Economic Relations Goran Pitic said on Thursday.
Responding to the journalist questions on the outcome of the Tuesday meeting of representatives of the governments of Serbia and Montenegro in Belgrade, Pitic said that the mutual assessment was that the National Bank of Serbia and its Governor should be the fiscal agent at the IMF, but in cooperation with Montenegro's Central Bank.
