Serbia-Montenegro on path of European integrations
BELGRADE - In order to join the European Union, Serbia-Montenegro, just like all the other western Balkan countries will have to fulfill a number of political and economic criteria, but this does not signify the loss of identity, rather the possibility that the countries in the European system of flexibility and multiplicity realize their special traits, a round table on European integrations held on the Serbian parliament
concluded on Monday.
The round table on European integrations and the role of the parliament in this process, organized by the German Friedrich Neumann Foundation in cooperation with the party clubs of the Civic Alliance of Serbia, the Liberals of Serbia and the Liberal Alliance of Montenegro, said that the conditions for EU membership, which begins and ends in the parliament, are a democratic system, a legal state, the respect of human rights and the rights of minorities, a functioning market economy and the fulfillment of a number of economic criteria.
