JAT predicts war losses
BELGRADE – Serbia’s flagship air carrier JAT announced today that it could see profits fall with the beginning of the war on Iraq.
If the war lasts three weeks and is confined only to Iraq, the direct losses would be about five million dollars, said the company, adding that losses of up to sixteen million dollars were on the cards if the war lasted longer and spread to
neighboring countries.
JAT director Predrag Vukovic told media that the company had suspended flights to Damascus, Beirut, Tel Aviv and Dubai, but added that flights to Lanark and Cairo were continuing.
