Dinar will remain stable - NBS governor
BELGRADE - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Mladjan Dinkic said on Thursday that the dinar would remain stable and that the war in Iraq could affect the Serbian economy only if the oil price registered an uncontrolled growth, which might increase the planned 9-percent inflation rate in 2003 by an additional one to two percent.
Voicing belief that the dinar will remain strong in the coming years, Dinkic told the Belgrade B92 Radio that there had been no indications in the past seven days that the value of the local currency would drop, despite a special situation in the country following the assassination of Premier Djindjic.
