Montenegro to announce elections next week
PODGORICA – Filip Vujanovic, Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament, today announced that he would call Montenegrin presidential election next week.
Vujanovic determined that it was Montenegro’s “Need” to organize elections as soon as possible, as the fact that the republic has been without a president since November is damaging the state “both internally and internationally”.
According to the law on election of a Montenegrin president, which was recently adopted by the Montenegrin parliament and which will come into force later this week, the elections must be held by a minimum of 60 days and a maximum of 90 days from the day of announcement.
