Trade last year totaled 8,595 dollars
BELGRADE - Although the foreign trade of Serbia and Montenegro last year totaled 8.595 million dollars, which is 27.5 pct more than in 2001, its results cannot be described as fully satisfactory, the Federal Foreign Trade Ministry said.
The information on the realized foreign trade in 2002, which was recently approved by the federal government, said that due to a slower growth of exports than of imports the foreign trade deficit of the country has increased greatly, which for the greatest part is covered by a positive balance of crediting-financing operations and to a lesser extent by current transactions and donations.
