Serbian Finance Ministry cannot hold negotiations with customs officers
BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Finance and Economy said on Monday that "it cannot make any agreements" with Customs Administration employees, since it still "does not have authority over the salaries of" customs officers.
The Ministry, which practically rejected the customs trade union's request for talks said that the "financing of the Customs Administration is regulated under the Decree on the Temporary Financing of FR Yugoslavia for the January-March 2003 period," and that the "salaries of Customs Administration workers are being paid from the state union's provisional budget."
