Croatia moves to block Yugoslav funds
ZAGREB – Croatia has blocked about forty million dollars on deposit in three New York banks for the former Yugoslavia, a deputy state prosecutor said today.
Boris Koleti told media that the banks had agreed not to release the funds until succession negotiations among the former Yugoslav states were finalized, or unless a court passed a decision which was binding on them.
He added that the funds had been blocked at the last minute before a US Administration decision released frozen funds of the former Yugoslavia held in US institutions.
