'Made in Vojvodina'
NOVI SAD – Ham for the US market and canned peas for the European Union are set to become the first exported products carrying the label Made in Vojvodina.
The province's secretary for agriculture, Igor Kurjacki, said today that the label did not have any political implications, but indicated geographical origin and guaranteed the quality of the produce.
He described the move as a new strategy of the Vojvodina government which aimed to
capitalize on the province's resources.
Other candidates for the Made in Vojvodina label are canned fruit and vegetables and wine, said Kurjacki, adding that the products would also carry the name of the manufacturer and the state, Serbia-Montenegro.
