Belgrade hosts Balkan News Agencies’ General Assembly
BELGRADE - Federal Information Minister Slobodan Orlic opened today
in Belgrade the General Assembly of the Association of the Balkan
News Agencies.
Addressing the Assembly, Orlic said that it was taking place in the
midst of the transition of news agencies and agency services market
in the region of Eastern Europe.
"Following the democratic changes, our country is very much focused
on changes to the media status, on turning the state media into
public services, changes to the legislation, all aimed at creating
media that will honor public interests”, said Orlic.
Participating in the Assembly are ANA and MPA from Greece, Albanian
ATA, Bulgarian BCA, Turkish Anadolia, Macedonian MIA, and Tanjug
from Serbia and Montenegro.
Slovene STA, SRNA and FENA from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian
HINA are attending the Assembly as observers.
