Corridor X infrastructure plan will contribute to development - minister
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Urban Planning and Civil Engineering Dragoslav Sumarac said on Thursday that the making of a Corridor X infrastructure plan would contribute to the development of all cities near this international road.
Speaking at a news conference at the Serbian government, Sumarac said that the plan would give foreign investors safety and guarantees for a free investment of funds, which will help
revitalize the economy and employ more than 100,000 workers.
'The route of Corridor 10 through Serbia is not going to be finished until beginning of Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 as expected', Dragoslav Sumarac, Serbian Minister for urbanism and construction said at today's press conference.
'This is the most interesting object of infrastructure. After passing of environment plans of Corridor 10 we are going to have a plan frame for construction of highway, railway and telecommunications /optic cables/ and energy infrastructure. We believe that about 22.000 workers will be engaged in the works. We also expect that development and inflow of foreign investments in the period of four years after completion of Corridor 10 employ in that zone 100.000 to 120.000 workers', Sumarac said.
