Threat by BMW to Zastava Co.
Kragujevac - Well-known German car manufacturer BMW sent two written warnings before filing a lawsuit referring to signed pre-agreement about formation of joint venture company 'Zastava-Motor Works ZMW'. The warnings were sent to Serbian Government and American New Car Co. BMW is threatening with lawsuit if such company is formed because of abuse and similarity of ZMW name with the name of the famous German manufacturer.
In the warnings its is pointed out that after court decision in BMW's favor, BMW might confiscate the whole property of the new company, i.e. present 'Zastava'.
