Privatization cannot wait for law on denationalization
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Economy and Privatization Aleksandar Vlahovic said late Monday freezing ownership transformation in the economy, pending the adoption of a law on denationalization in order not to damage former owners, would slow down economic revitalization.
Commenting on an announced lawsuit by the League for Ownership Protection, Vlahovic explained in a broadcast on Serbian Radio Television RTS that the law on privatization passed in July 2001 did not envisage the possibility of physical compensation to former owners, but strictly financial compensation.
