Montenegro: Belgrade based B92 TV denied broadcast license
Independent Belgrade TV station B92 has been unsuccessful in its bid to become the first Serbian broadcaster to get a broadcasting
license in Montenegro since the formation of the new state of Serbia and Montenegro.
Although several Montenegrin channels are currently vacant, Zoran Sekulic Director of the Telecommunications Agency, said that his agency is no longer issuing
licenses, as that function will be taken over by the new Broadcasting Agency now being created.
But Sekulic pointed out that "Montenegrin TV stations may not broadcast their programmes in Serbia. They have the moratorium on the assignment of frequencies still in force. We should have reciprocity in this sphere." He said that TV Pink, which already operates in Montenegro, obtained its
license while the old regulations were still in force.
