Payment operations in banks amount to 417 billion dinars in January
BELGRADE - Payment operations realized in Serbian commercial banks in January amounted to 417 billion dinars, or about 19 million
dinars per day, and 95 percent of this amount went through the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) system, NBS Governor Mladjan Dinkic said on Wednesday.
One month after commercial banks took over payment operations from the Clearing and Settlement Bureau (ZOP), we have received international praises for this speedy transfer, Dinkic said and added that the Central Banks of Egypt, Algeria, Pakistan and even Montenegro had voiced interest in the new system.
