Industrialists sign deal with unions
BELGRADE – The Association of Serbian and Montenegrin Industries today signed an agreement on cooperation with the Alliance of Serbian Independent labour Unions and the Nezavisnost United Branch Unions.
Association president Bogoljub Karic said that the signatories had agreed on firm partnership rules for progress and the safety of companies and employees.
“It is in the common interest of the unions and the association for Serbian companies to operate efficiently and successfully sell their products and services on the international market,” said Karic.
The president of the union alliance, Milenko Smiljanic, said that the agreement would help ease social tensions.
Nezavisnost president Branislav Canak said that it was not necessary for employers and employees to be opposed to each other.
The initiative was supported by the Belgrade and Serbia-Montenegro Chambers of Commerce.
