Appeal for reconsidering decision to sell Tito car park
BELGRADE - The Association of Car Historians - Belgrade on Wednesday appealed to the authorities to reconsider the decision to sell the official cars used by late Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito, because in question are vehicles which are a valuable part of our cultural and historic heritage.
The Association said that the sale of the bullet-proof Mercedes 600, a convertible version of this model, three "ordinary"
Mercedes and a Phantom V Rolls Royse would strip future generations of the opportunity of inspecting vehicles which are a part of this country's history and whose technical characteristics, quality and luxurious versions were in their time at the top of the world car manufacturing industry.
