Government to have its say about Bor and Majdanpek
Majdanpek - 'The town of Majdanpek is now in silence causing fear among all of us. The noise of heavy duty machinery cannot be heard any more. We request a help in restarting of production at RTB Bor. The workers have to work and feed their families', the independent trade union representative said yesterday at rally attended by more than two thousand employees. This representative informed present workers about conclusions made at meeting in Belgrade. The authorities understand difficult situation that workers found themselves in and express concern about their future. However, strike is not approved.
Trade union requested from Serbian Government to say whether it would help RTB Bor and Majdanpek Mine or not. The Government was further requested to pass as soon as possible a law on special status of Bor region until choice of strategic partner.
