Higher salaries due to lower employment rate, says statistics official Kovacevic
BELGRADE - The real increase in salaries in 2002 was a result only of the lower employment rate, since there is no especially earmarked money mass for increasing salaries, Federal Bureau of Statistics Assistant Director Miladin Kovacevic said on Tuesday.
Presenting this year's first issue of monthly analyses and predictions by the Institute of Economic Sciences, Kovacevic said statistics showed that total annual growth of real salaries from December 2001 until December 2002 was 22.2 percent.
