World Bank consultations this week
BELGRADE – Serbian and Montenegrin government representatives will meet consultants from the World Bank over the next few days, to discuss the bank’s strategy for the years 2004 to 2006.
Bank representative Vesna Kostic told media that the World Bank team will be in Belgrade tomorrow to discuss adjustments to current and planned Serbian government projects to make them more efficient.
On Wednesday, support strategies for 2004-2006 will be discussed with the Serbian Government, with similar discussions in Podgorica on Thursday.
Kostic emphasized that World Bank loans are not dependent on the political situation but on the capacity of the country to pay, how much other institutions and donors would give and the level of assets in local banks.
