Not all of Bor Mining and Smelting Works will be able to continue working
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of the Economy and Privatization Aleksandar Vlahovic said on Thursday that the Serbian government would find a solution for the Bor Mining and Smelting Works by pinpointing a suitable investor, who would restore production wherever possible, and that restructuring and tender procedure would follow.
He said that not all parts of the works would be able to continue working. If the mine turns out to be unprofitable, it will be closed, but the smelting works and other parts will be offered at a tender. He said that the price of production of one tone of copper exceeded its cost on the market and that the government had to subsidies this production.
