Yugoslav trade deficit exceeded four billion dollars in 2002, economic experts
BELGRADE - Macroeconomic stability in Yugoslavia in 2002 was "paid" by a high trade deficit which has exceeded four billion dollars, assessed on Wednesday Belgrade Faculty of Economy professor dr Mladjen Kovacevic.
At the presentation of a review of works from the December consultations of economists on current economic movements and options of economic policy for 2003, in the organization of the Scientific Society of Economists (NDE), Kovacevic explained that the trade deficit in 2002 amounted to 40 pct of the country's social product.
