Yugoslavia records macro economic stability and production drop in December 2002
BELGRADE - Yugoslav macro economic trends in December 2002 were the stabilization of the inflation, strengthening of monetary stability, an unexpected production drop and a high spending rate, the Economic Institute of Belgrade said on Wednesday at the promotion of its new publication Economic Barometer.
Prof. Dr Nebojsa Savic, an expert in this Institute, said that 2002 had ended with a 14.2 percent inflation rate, down by half on 2001 when it was 38.5 percent. Overall production in 2002 rose by 1.7 percent, with a 1.7 percent drop in December.
