Sitnica river pollution 'under control'
Kosovo - The Kosovo cabinet at its meeting today ruled out the involvement of consultants from Serbia in cleaning up the polluted Sitnica river, saying that the Serbian proposal had a hidden agenda.
"It was assessed that the situation is under control and that the ministry has the manpower and equipment to manage it," said the government.
"Proposals from Serbia on the need to engage consultants from Serbia are seen as having political connotations," said the statement from the prime minister's office.
Areas of south Serbia experienced levels of phenol sixty times the legal level at the weekend following a chemical spill from the Obilic power plant in Kosovo.
