Swiss loan for Serbian companies
Belgrade, Jan 21, 2003 - The Komercijalna Banka and the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency signed a €1 million agreement for extending short terms loans to Serbian companies.
The funds, provided by the Swiss government, will be on-lent through the European Fund for Serbia (EFS) to small and medium-sized enterprises in the municipalities of Cacak, Kraljevo, Kursumlija, Nis, Novi Pazar, Pozega and Uzice.
The EFS is a multinational institution founded by the German development bank Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW). So far, the Fund has committed €8 million to financing more than 300 projects, creating over 1,000 new jobs.
The EFS is directing the funds secured by the governments of Germany and Switzerland, and the European Union.
So far, the Swiss government has provided €2.26 million in assistance.
