Fight against crime is top priority, says Djindjic
BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic said last night that the fight against organized crime and violence will continue to be the Government’s top priority.
Djindjic emphasized that stricter punitive measures need to be introduced.
“We are now entering the third year in the transformation of our state and society, and perhaps the most important reforms in the history of modern Serbia, all with the aim to ensure that our people are free from poverty and fear”, said Djindjic last night at a celebration of Serbian Interior Ministry and Security-information Agency Day.
He argued that “an integral strategy” is needed to allow for a more efficient fight against crime in which all state institutions and services would be involved.
“We have this strategy in mind, but it depends on time and money. The real results will show themselves in due course, and I hope that this will be in a matter of months”, said Djindjic.
