Government set to pass Information Act
BELGRADE – A draft Information Act and draft law on access to information of public interest have been put forward by the Serbian government.
These draft laws await the assessments of the respective ministries, said Deputy Prime Minister Zarko Korac today.
The government is expected to adopt these bills by the end of the month after which they will be forwarded to the Serbian Parliament for adoption, Korac explained.
Of all the media laws, only the Broadcast Act has been adopted so far, although its implementation has so far been delayed.
If the Broadcast Act is to be implemented then the draft law on telecommunications must be adopted, which, according to the government, should be tabled in the Serbian Parliament in the near future.
