Serbia to establish corruption bureau
BELGRADE – The Serbian Government plans to establish an agency to combat corruption.
Work has begun on drafting legislation to establish the agency, which is to have a public education role as well as being aimed at preventing corruption.
Serbia’s representative in the Stability Pact Anti-Corruption Initiative, Aleksandra Drecun, said today that the legislation would be discussed soon by the
government. She added that the legislation could be tabled in the parliament in the first half of the year, because there is “absolute political will” and eagerness to establish the agency.
