Excess profit tax still in force
BELGRADE – Serbia’s legislation on excess profit is still in force, but most cases have been processed, Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said today.
About 68 million euros in tax has been collected to date from companies and individuals determined to have made excessive profits under the patronage of the Milosevic regime.
Djelic said today that he expects the total l tax collected to eventually amount to about a hundred million euros.
The committee investigating profiteering and illegal transactions will continue to work.
“My idea is for this committee to be transformed into a permanent complaints bureau,” said Djelic.
