Public debate on foreign debt legislation
BELGRADE – The Federal Constitutional Court today publicly debated the constitutionality of legislation regulating relations between Yugoslavia and companies and banks on Yugoslav territory who are debtors or guarantors of the Paris or London clubs of creditors.
A number of prominent legal experts and representatives of the National Bank of Yugoslavia and the Federal Government attended the debate.
The debts covered by the legislation date back to the seventies and eighties and amount to 4.5 billion dollars, most of which is owed to creditors from the Paris Club.
