Dinkic accuses Serbian Government for destruction of independence of the central bank
Belgrade - 'So far the National Bank of Yugoslavia has been the most stable institution in the country. The independence of that institution should not be destroyed because of one man', Mladjan Dinkic, Governor of the National Bank of Yugoslavia warned yesterday at news conference. He accused Serbian Government for causing damage to the citizens of Serbia through Bosko Ristic, DS representative in the Constitutional Commission. 'By his bad proposals he is causing damage to the citizens of Serbia and helping authorities in Montenegro to easier realize their idea about independence', Dinkic said.
'DSS, DA and RV suggest that the central bank of Serbia that would cooperate with the central bank of Montenegro is a fiscal agent in the future union of Serbia and Montenegro. On the other hand there is proposal that is pushed by Ristic, i.e. Zoran Djindjic that Ministry for economic relations with abroad is that fiscal agent. If that is accepted then it would mean that the post of fiscal agent is being given to Montenegro. That would make easier to Montenegrin authorities to establish connections with the international community and realize the idea about independence', Dinkic said.
