Miroljub Labus - Serbia must not be hostage of Montenegro
Belgrade - 'European Union has introduced a special process of association and stabilization for Kosovo and Metohija. Future status of Kosovo has no longer to do anything with relations between Serbia and Montenegro', Miroljub Labus, Yugoslav Deputy Prime Minister said yesterday.
'We got this information from Brussels a month ago. We complained that it was contrary to UN Security Council Resolution 1244. However, the reply we got was that's the life, there is no other mechanism to include Kosovo in this mechanism. Belgrade should make fair agreement using the variant of asymmetric status that would allow large autonomy with protection of minority rights in Kosovo', Labus said. According to his words that is not the issue for agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.
'As regards the Constitutional Charter, Serbia should pass mechanism for protection of its national interests so as not to be a hostage of daily politics of Montenegro in the future union', Labus said. He criticized the text of the Charter and the Law for its implementation expressing doubt about the future and functioning of the future union of Serbia and Montenegro.
