Political chaos damaging the economy
BELGRADE – According the Institute of Economics the political chaos could hinder economic activity in the coming year and threaten the current fragile stability.
The Serbian economy is starting 2003 from a better position than last year, according to the latest ‘Monthly analyses and forecasts’ bulletin, but political activities threaten not only to halt improvements already made, but also to slow down economic development, or worse still, provoke an economic downturn.
Compared with last year, the gross national product is expected to rise by 5 per cent in 2003 and the inflation rate should drop, according to the bulletin.
