Micunovic against bringing government down
BELGRADE – The DOS coalition which defeated the Milosevic regime in 2002 no longer exists, Democratic Centre leader Dragoljub Micunovic said today.
“DOS has no been united for quite some time now. That’s why there are various caucuses within DOS, each of which has a different opinion on a variety of issues. It’s obvious that the DOS which won in 2000 cannot be restructured,” he said.
Micunovic said that he was against bringing the government down, despite the lack of unity, but predicted that elections would probably be held during 2003.
Asked who his party would support in new presidential elections, Micunovic replied that the Democratic Centre would back Vojislav Kostunica and would also demand that the fifty per cent voter turn out rule be abolished.
However, he added, the party would not support Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia which has said its priority for 2003 is to bring down tithe Djindjic government.
