High fines for consumers without bills in Serbia
BELGRADE - Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services Market Inspection chief Vera Todorovic on Friday warned consumers they will have to pay 1000-dinar fines for non-possession of a bill on received goods or services on the grounds of a law which took effect on Jan 1.
"This fine is aimed at stimulating public revenue, sales tax collection, and curbing the parallel illegal economy," she explained, adding that "a buyer or consumer must possess a bill on leaving a store or other business premises."
