PM Djukanovic lays out plans for 2003
PODGORICA – The Montenegrin Parliament is to appoint a new cabinet on January 8, on the basis of proposals presented yesterday by Prime Minister Designate Milo Djukanovic.
Calling on all the republic’s political forces to support his government and its reform program, Djukanovic said today that the jeopardizing of state interests would not be permitted.
He warned of harsh restrictions in the Montenegrin budget, adding that the government would no longer vote for new expenditure before revenues had been secured.
The government would continue its decisive struggle against crime in Montenegro, said Djukanovic, whose term as president of the republic has been marked by allegations of criminal involvement by senior officials, including himself.
